The first return map of a $C^3$ unimodal map to a neighbourhood of
the critical point is conjugated by a real-analytic diffeomorphism
to a map with negative Schwarzian derivative. Consequently, we obtain
the classification of the metric attractors for smooth unimodal maps
with non-degenerate critical point.
